Shopify checkout and private PDF input are separate
This notice supplements the store privacy policy for the personalized PDF service. It does not replace Shopify's automated policy. For birth input, questions, creation and delivery, read Lodestar's PDF privacy section and full privacy policy.
Order verification
You enter checkout and payment information directly into Shopify or the selected payment provider. Our PDF integration reads the purchase email, order and item identifiers, product/SKU, report language, quantity, amounts, currency, payment/refund/cancellation state and processing times to verify the purchase and delivery. It does not copy checkout names, phone numbers, billing or shipping addresses or card details into PDF order records.
Private input, creation and email
After payment verification, we email a private Lodestar input link for each purchased PDF. The selected topic determines the information needed, such as birth date, known birth time and place, a question or relationship/work context, compatibility details and the processing-consent record. Only provide another person's information with their permission. No Lodestar account is required.
Lodestar uses the required input for calculation and AI-written reading text through its existing Google Cloud and Vertex AI processing. Resend handles the input notice and completion email, including the PDF attachment and private link. The attachment contains the personal reading you requested. Provider-specific data, countries, retention and rights are described in Lodestar's full privacy policy.
Birth input, questions, the finished reading, PDF file and private access link are not sent to Shopify by this integration. After Resend accepts all completed PDF emails for an order, Shopify receives only limited fulfillment identifiers, quantities and completion state. Email-provider acceptance is not confirmation of inbox arrival.
Retention and expiry
Lodestar's private order input, reading, PDF, stored delivery email address and download access expire 90 days after payment verification. Access stops at expiry, and scheduled cleanup deletes the private copies. The separate generation-input copy is deleted after the finished text is saved.
Minimum payment identifiers, product, amounts, currency and processing times are kept separately, without birth input, reading text or purchase email, for 5 years from the initial payment or a verified refund, then removed by automatic expiry processing. Shopify order records have their own retention rules; Lodestar's 90-day expiry does not delete them. Emails and PDFs already received or saved on your device cannot be recalled.
Optional analytics and ad measurement
After you allow analytics and marketing cookies, our custom pixel sends public page and product activity, checkout activity, purchase value and currency, a hashed order identifier, and limited cookie or advertising click IDs to Google Analytics, Google Ads and Meta. These services also receive technical connection data such as IP address and browser information. We use this data to measure store use and ad results.
Contact details, birth details, questions, PDF content and private access links are excluded from this custom pixel. It does not run on private Lodestar input or download pages. Enhanced conversions, automatic contact matching and automatic form or search tracking are off.
Choose Decline optional cookies or Manage preferences in the cookie banner. Our custom tracking is blocked when Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control is detected. Declining optional tracking does not prevent purchase or PDF delivery. Provider processing and rights are described in Google's privacy policy and Meta's privacy policy.
Your choices and requests
You can leave the private form before saving to decline the required processing. Public pages remain available, but we cannot create and deliver this personalized PDF without the required input and delivery processing.
For access, correction, deletion or withdrawal requests for a private order, email privacy@duckgustudio.com from the purchase address with the order or payment identifier. Do not send birth details, your question, private links or access keys. We verify the purchase before acting and explain any legally required retention.
